Si Glimmer n’est pas sans nous rappeler la forme du sablier, objet de mesure par excellence, le temps est ici abordé
d’une autre manière, sans le subir.
À travers la consumation de la bougie,
Glimmer est une évocation poétique du temps qui passe.
Une pause dans notre société aux rythmes effrénés
où tout est compté, mesuré.
If Glimmer is not without reminding us of the hourglass,
the archetypal measuring object. Here time is approached
in another way, without being subjected to it.
Through the burning of the candle, Glimmer is a poetic evocation of the time which passes.
A break from wild rhythms in our society where everything
is counted, measured.
Par l’intervention du feu, le verre devient un matériau souple que nous pouvons
travailler. Il a cette particularité d’être à la fois solide et liquide, comme la cire.
Ce projet joue de cette similitude entre ces deux matières par la relation établie entre contenu et contenant. Ainsi dans la partie inférieure du bougeoir, le liquide blanc donne l’illusion que la fonte de la bougie se poursuit dans celle-ci,
comme un transfert. C’est une histoire imaginaire sur le temps qui passe
et (s’é)coule, une mesure loin d’un comptage rationnel et mathématique.
Through the intervention of fire, glass becomes a flexible material which
we can work on. It has this particularity to be solid and liquid, at the same time,
like wax. This project plays with the similarity between these two materials
by the relation established between content and container.
In the bottom of the candlestrick, the white liquid gives the illusion that the candle is melting into it, like a transfer.It’s an imaginary story about the time which
passes and flows away, a measure far from a rational and mathematical count.
L'ouverture permet à l’oxygène de circuler et le pique de planter la bougie.
Opening allows the oxygen to circulate and the peak is useful to put the candle.
